GOD’S WORD FOR MARCH 11

GOD’S WORD FOR MARCH 11 ~ ~ 2Corinthians 3:18 Amp ~ ~ “ And we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory, which comes from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit.” The veil is a reference to when Moses went up Mount Sinai to get the commandments, God veiled His Glory in Light, and He hid Moses in the rocks, and God passed by quickly, only showing His back side. This was to physically and mentally protect Moses from the power and majesty of the Glory of God which would have killed him instantly. God also told Moses to instruct the people not to touch the mountain nor let any animal touch it, or they will die instantly. His Glory and Image is that powerful that our earthly bodies can’t handle it. So when Moses came down he had to put a veil over his face, because, even with all those precautions, his face was “burned” and glowing from the passing of the Almighty past him with the mountain between. (And yet, knowing all that, and how powerful and glorious God is, they still turned to the Egyptian gods when Moses delayed in coming down, but that’s for another time). The veil is over their eyes because of the many times they turned from God. Because of the sin nature in us, we, too, have a veil over our hearts from conception on. But once we’re saved, Born Again, and living for Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord, the veil comes off and through the Holy Spirit, we can see Him. With this, to a degree depending upon how receptive and obedient we each are to Him, He reveals Himself to us, a little at a time, and even more beautiful, we become more like Him little by little, “glory to glory” That is called Sanctification, which can only come about by first humbling ourselves to know that we are nothing, and have no hope without Jesus Christ. All praise to Him!

Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth! Ps 46:10
