GOD’S WORD FOR MAY 21
GOD’S WORD FOR MAY 21 ~ ~ Job 39:19-25~ ~ ““Do you give the horse his might?
Do you clothe his neck with a mane? Do you make him leap like locusts?
His majestic snorting is frightening. He paws in the valley, and rejoices in his strength;
He goes out to meet the battle. He laughs at fear and is not dismayed;
And he does not turn back from the sword. The quiver rattles against him,
The flashing spear and javelin. He races over the ground with a roar and fury,
And he does not stand still when he hears the sound of the trumpet. As often as the trumpet sounds he says, ‘Aha!’
And he senses the battle from afar, And the thunder of the captains and the war cry.”
Apparently in Job’s day, at least, the horse was a very strong and majestic creature. It is mentioned many times in the Bible, always meaning strength, power and courage, as in the verses above.
I remember when I was a child, and I had many books about horses. Many of them had a series of pictures of the “evolution of the horse”. It seems that they think the horse started out pretty much like a dog, even with soft feet. Very small were the first ones, and they progressively grew, they tell us.
No one has ever found any fossils or evidence of any kind of this “evolution.” As far as different sizes, there are very different sized horses living right now, as there are different size dogs, but they haven’t “evolved.”
It also isn’t logical that horses would get larger in the course of “evolution”, when other animals are getting smaller than they were, even a few hundred years ago. This is just another of the lies of those fighting against the Creator God and, sadly, it works for some people.
Some might say, “what does it matter about the horse or other animals, or creation, for that matter?”
It matters because the purpose of these lies are to put questions in the minds of people about the Word of God being true, and being inspired by the Holy Spirit. If people doubt creation, they’ll doubt everything in the Word of God. If they doubt even one thing, their salvation is not likely to happen, because they won’t be able to have true faith in Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord.
It is important. In fact, it is a matter of eternal life and death.
