GOD’S WORD FOR MAY 23 ~ ~ Psalm 50:11 ~ ~ I know every bird in the mountains, and the creatures of the field are mine.”

Birds and their lives give us some of the most abundant testimony to the beauty and design of creation.

They represent the most variation in color, design, songs, migration, reproduction, food, and every other aspect of their lives.

For example: Most birds are taught by their Creator to build safe, sturdy nests for their eggs. But there

seems to always be an exception in creation. A sea bird called the guillemot builds no nest. She lays her eggs on top of rocks, wide open to the wind. One would think they would roll off the rocks when the strong winds come. But, as with everything else, our Creator God has thought of that too. Their eggs aren’t shaped like other eggs. They are shaped in such a way that when the wind blows them, they spin in place instead of rolling off!!!!! What a wonderful God we serve, Who shows us His versatility, embarrassing the pride of man along the way!!!!

Migration is another baffling phenomenon. Hundreds of species of birds migrate thousands of miles and come to the same place every year, at exactly the same time. For example, the American Golden Plover current year young birds fly 3,000 miles across the Pacific Ocean from Alaska to Hawaii, with no parent to guide them, and never having been there before themselves, because they were born in another place. Through darkness, clouds, and storms, they end up at their perfect destination.

Not only that, but God is the best at conserving fuel. Through that long flight with no food, they each only burn two ounces of body weight throughout the entire 3,000 mile flight!!!!

Our Father owns the Cattle on a thousand hills, and all the creatures on the earth. Not even a sparrow falls without Him knowing and authorizing it. Be sure, He is with the plover babies as they make the flight. Just as He authorized the shape of the eggs of the guillemot.

How much more does He control every detail of our lives, guiding and helping us through everything we encounter!!!!!

Luke 12:24-28 ~ ~ “ Consider the ravens, that they neither sow nor reap; they have no storeroom nor barn, and yet God feeds them; how much more valuable you are than the birds! 25 And which of you by worrying can add a day to his life’s span? 26 Therefore if you cannot do even a very little thing, why do you worry about the other things? 27 Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither labor nor spin; but I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. 28 Now if God so clothes the grass in the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more will He clothe you? You of little faith!”

But we have to have constant communication with Him in order to know His guidance.

That means preferring time with Him over entertainment, constantly referring every detail to Him, and thanking and praising Him often for His constant care for us, and for salvation.
